With the cold weather upon us, now is the time to be prepared for hazaradous conditions on the road and at home.
With this in mind, it is never too early to pack an emergency kit in your personal vehicles. Fill your kit an extra jacket, blankets, hat and gloves, and water.
Also, remember to give yourself a few extra minutes when driving on the road. Snowy and icy conditions can make for dangerous commutes.
Back at home, we are beginning to start up those fireplaces and wood stoves. Remember that chimneys can become filled with sediment and leaves over the course of the warmer months. Be sure to inspect and clean your chimney and/or exhaust vents frequently.
