May 2021 was a particularly busy month for Bay Ridge Fire and our surrounding districts. BRVFC responded to a total of 67 alarms; 30 of which were fire calls. 46% of these calls came within a 10 day period. Between May 15 - 24, we responded to 31 alarms. Within that time, our company responded to 11 different structure fires. One day in particular, we responded to 5 fires, including a tractor-trailer fire, a residential structure fire, and 3 commercial structure fires. Assistant Chiefs Schadwill and Mellon and Chief Mellon, in their combined 80+ years of service, could not remember a time in which our company had a more busy 10 days. We would like to thank our firefighters and auxiliary for their hard work during this period. We would also like to thank our mutual aid partners!
