Rescuers attempt to rescue the victim.

On the morning of January 10th at 09:46 am Bay Ridge Fire, Queensbury EMS, Warren County Marine Rescue Team ( North Queensbury Fire, Queensbury Central Vol. Fire Company, West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, Lake George Volunteer Fire Dept. , Bolton Landing Fire, Horicon Fire, and Bay Ridge Volunteer Fire Company ) were dispatched to Glen Lake near Barber Road for a person thru the Ice.

Upon arrival approximately 2 minutes after dispatch, Bay Ridge Firefighters confirmed a male thru the ice hanging onto the ice shelf approximately 200 feet from shore. A Shore based Rescue was immediately initiated with Bay Ridge & North Queensbury Firefighters.

Simultaneously North Queensbury launched their Hovercraft from the George Street Boat Launch across the Lake.

Bolton launched their Air Boat at the Glen Lake Boat Launch.

BR/ NQ Rescuers were able to get to the victim using Cold Water Suits/ Dive Gear and removed him to shore in the BR Rescue Boat.

He was treated at the scene and transported to GF Hospital by Queensbury EMS.

Additionally- NYS Forest Rangers, NY State Police, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office NY assisted at the scene.

This was a labor-intensive Rescue as Rescuers had to break thru the ice to reach the victim.

The End Result- A SUCCESSFUL RESCUE AND THE MAN WAS SAVED BY EVERYONE WORKING AS A TEAM !!!
